Final Improvements Needed for WIC Food Rule: Last Chance to Share Your Recommendations with USDA
There is a last opportunity to respond to USDA's request for comments on their plans to finalize the healthy new WIC food packages rules. Your recommendations can help to improve the WIC food package rules before they are made permanent, but the deadline is February 1.
DEADLINE: Comments must be sent on or before February 1, 2010.
MODEL LETTER: A model comment letter is available below. If you feel the model letter represents your views, you can simply enter your contact information and send it to USDA. You can also use the model comment letter as a guide to write your own letter.

You can submit your comments by one of the following methods:
- Federal e-Rulemaking Portal: Go to http://www.regulations.gov . Preferred method; follow the online instructions for submitting comments on docket FNS-2006-0037-0003. You will be commenting on "Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC): Revisions in the WIC Food Packages
- Mail: Comments should be addressed to Debra Whitford, Director, Supplemental Food Programs Division, Food and Nutrition Service, USDA, 3101 Park Center Drive, Room 528, Alexandria, Virginia 22302, (703) 305-2746. If you mail your comments they must be postmarked on or before February 1, 2010.
