What You Can Do

The Campaign to End Childhood Hunger provides a forum and a strategy for people who want to help beyond providing important emergency food distribution by providing a common policy agenda, coordinated public education efforts, and opportunities for training, technical assistance, and information exchanges.

"The Campaign to End Childhood Hunger has helped us to clearly define issues and focus public attention on issues related to the well-being of children across our state. With the help of CTECH resources we have become better able to educate policymakers to respond to childhood hunger by making necessary investments and establishing proper priorities. Our state-level adaptation of CTECH has resulted in a broader, more diverse membership, that is more effective in advocacy."

Gerald Sanders
Former Director
Alabama Coalition Against Hunger

Partners in the Campaign to End Childhood Hunger encourage all of us in this country to get informed, get the word out, get others to act, and get involved to make a difference in the lives of hungry children.

Here's what you can do to help make a difference:

Get informed.

  1. Educate yourself and your family on hunger and poverty in the United States.
  2. Invite a representative from a local or statewide anti-hunger organization to speak at a meeting of your community or professional group, union, PTA, school or congregation.

Get the word out.

  1. Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper.
  2. Submit an article to your association, church or synagogue newsletter.

Get others to act.

  1. Find out where your elected representative stand on the issues.
  2. Question candidates on their plans to fight hunger--and hold them to their promises.

Get involved.

  1. Become active in an anti-hunger organization in your community or state.
  2. Volunteer at a soup kitchen, food pantry or food bank.
  3. Make a financial contribution to both the Campaign to End Childhood Hunger and your local anti-hunger organization.
