FRAC Issues New Tool for Evaluating School Wellness Policies
. School districts with significant numbers of low-income students have the responsibility to implement local wellness policies that meet the specific needs of their students. School wellness policies should address the expansion of participation in school meals and snacks to ensure that no child goes hungry, and to improve the nutritional status and health of students. This tool helps parents, advocates and school personnel evaluate their current wellness policy to see how well it meets these important criteria.
